Situated between the school campus and the heart of the city center, this platform for an art forum is situated in a location that serves as a bridge or connector between urban life and artistic expression. Designed to foster interaction between local communities and the surrounding spaces, the project emphasizes creating meaningful connections while offering diverse functionalities. The site is situated behind a stream winding through the town of Biberach, with the main plot located in front of the school campus, ensuring that residents enjoy a private view of nature while also benefiting from the vibrant public space. The building is 36 meters in length and has steel-frame construction with columns and castellated beams from steel profiles. The art forum is divided into two primary areas: an indoor space dedicated to exhibitions and workshops and outdoor spaces featuring a café and additional activities. The entire structure follows a linear typology, ensuring optimal flow and functionality within the design. Natural light streams through the building via two longitudinal facades, creating an illusion of openness and spaciousness. The polycarbonate wall systems play a crucial role in this design, allowing light to filter through while maintaining privacy. The set of furniture within the forum is designed to fit in the structure and plays as a fixed architectural element. Parts of the furniture also derive from the steel profile, which will make the space stronger as a whole.
